July 2017 - Resilience and capacity building

Resilience is developing the skills to bounce back from difficulty.

In the July 2017 issue we gained great insight into the use of self-talk by people with Down syndrome as a coping tool.

We also discussed strategies for reducing the chance of unsafe wandering in children and adults plus we covered ways to stay resilient during extended hospital stays.

March 2017 - The early years

The March 2017 issue brings you a variety of stories focusing on young children with Down syndrome including a terrific insight into how to teach functional mathematics to learners with Down syndrome.

We also met some of the staff from the local state and territory organisations to get an idea of how parent support is delivered on the ground.
